Today in random shit: Hell is other people in Koren Shadmi’s ‘The Abaddon’

I discovered Koren Shadmi’s webcomic ‘The Abaddon‘ earlier this morning through a ComicsAlliance article. Until then I only knew Shadmi through StumbledUpon and his art work of a woman devouring an octopus. I didn’t know Shadmi made comics. Didn’t even know Shadmi was a dude.

The Abaddon is currently 117 pages long. I thought I’d look through the first bit and save the rest for when I wasn’t in the office and supposed to be working. Ended up reading the whole thing in one go.

What got me into The Abaddon (which Wikipedia will tell you means ‘destruction‘) is the idea of a bunch of people in a closed space for what might potentially be forever and ever. Read the rest of this entry »

Today in random nostalgia shit: Cursed video

In the Koji Suzuki novel Ringu (1992), the cursed video started with a little message to make sure whoever was watching would sit through the entire thing (to avoid plot holes like ‘what happens if you only watch half the video?’): “Whoever does not watch the whole video will be devoured by the living dead.” Something like that.
